Gervais Street Bridge is an historic arch bridge constructed from reinforced concrete, built between 1926 and 1928. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Two previous bridges have stood on the site, the first of which was burned down during the American Civil War.
It is reputedly haunted by a female phantom hitchhiker dressed in clothing dating to the 1940's-50's. According to Newman, when she has been picked up, she remains silent and disappears by the time you reach the end of the bridge.
